Why does Vision Australia rely on the support of volunteers?

Vision Australia’s reason for being is to support people who are blind or have low vision to live the life they choose. We are a not for profit organisation that relies on the generosity of our community to support our important work.

The skills, knowledge and enthusiasm that volunteers bring to our organisation allows Vision Australia to continue to provide a broad range of high quality, person centred services to clients, their families and the community.

What are the Values of Vision Australia?

Our values define us as an organisation; they guide our interactions with each other and govern how we work. We are accountable for our actions and model our values at all times. These values apply equally to all our workforce members- both paid and volunteer.

Person Centred: We measure our success in terms of outcomes for clients.
Accountable: We hold ourselves responsible for what we do and don't do.
Collaborative: We work together and with others to deliver the best possible outcomes.
Commercially Focused: We work efficiently and responsibly to sustain and grow our organisation.
Agile: We adapt, learn and innovate to ensure a positive impact
