A joyful reminder that you don’t know sh*t about age. Anything You Can Do is a community-engaged performance. Beginning remotely, two months out, Pony Cam will bring together a group of 5-10 local community members aged 55+. Then, over ten days, Pony Cam will run a playful and provocative creative development process. Combining real stories, compelling lies, “skilled physical theatre, and inspired clowning” (The Age), the group will create a unique performance work that debunks and celebrates intergenerational differences.
Each iteration of the project is different, but unified by a common performance structure. This structure has performers responding in real time to a pack of devised questions. From “what does your father’s hug feel like”, to “describe your sex life in three words”, these questions act as a hilarious, outrageous and tragic invitation for audiences to share in a uniquely personal space with their community.
The result is a wild night of entertainment that radically shifts how young and old understand their own community.
