Overview

Social and Recreation Groups connect people through shared hobbies or new friendships. Whether exploring local attractions or building skills, our groups promote active lifestyles and personal growth.

Recreation groups and outings

Recreation groups are designed to build relationships and combat isolation through shared activities. Each week topics and activities can change, ensuring fresh experiences. Explore local attractions, attend cultural events, and socialise over shared hobbies. Some groups are also available remotely.

Example topics

Social groups, Footy clubs, board games.

Typical duration

Groups may be one-off events or run for 6-12 weeks, with typical intakes in January, April, July, and October, though this can vary by location. We offer groups that range from 1 to 5 hours long, with availability and schedules possibly varying across locations and group offerings. Popular groups can fill up quickly.

Locations

Interest-based groups

Two men assisted by a Vision Australia employee, wearing safety goggles work together in a woodworking shop. The employee applies glue to a wooden joint while one of the men holds the pieces in place.

Interest-based groups focus on specific interests and skills, bringing together like-minded people who share the same passions. Classes range from beginner to advanced, featuring personalised learning in a structured, collaborative environment. Due to high demand, spaces fill up quickly.
