Vision Australia is set to launch it's free "Check In and Chat" webinars that will run through the COVID-19 pandemic to support people who are blind or have low vision.

The free webinars, hosted via Zoom, will be both informative sessions covering a range of topics and an important social outlet for people who are blind or have low vision.

The "Check In and Chat" webinars will be held each week on Tuesdays and Thursdays and will be hosted by a variety of Vision Australia experts. Webinar attendees are able to ask questions prior to the session as well as during.

The webinars will cover various topics on health and wellness, explore sources of entertainment and creativity, and expand your options for receiving services and living your life. 

The first "Check In and Chat" webinar will be held on Thursday, April 2. "Check In and Chat" webinars are free, but registration is required. Find out below about the first "Check In and Chat" webinar and how you can get involved.

Check In and Chat, April 2: Staying in touch with technology

The first session starts Thursday, April 2 where you will learn about how technology can help you to stay in touch. Below are some of the topics we will cover:

  • Shopping online for groceries and other necessities
  • Keeping up to date with news and community opinion
  • Connecting through conferencing and chat apps
  • Getting training and assistance

Damian is Vision Australia's Access Technology Product Owner.
