Vision Australia’s Careers Sampler is a back in 2020!
After a successful inaugural event in 2019, the Careers Sampler is back bigger than ever this year!
Burwood RSL will again be the flagship site for this year’s event, hosting a keynote speech from Dr Karen Wolffe and a discussion between a panel with blindness or low vision as they talk about their experiences of choosing and following their career paths.
Dr Wolffe’s keynote speech and the panel discussion will be broadcast via videoconferencing at Vision Australia’s Kooyong and Coorparoo locations.
Each of the three locations will then provide attendees with the chance to meet with mentors who are blind or have low vision in an informal, conversational environment about their career experiences.
The 2020 Careers sampler is again open to children and young people who are blind or have low vision and their parents and carers, as well as vision teachers.
We're also on the hunt for volunteer mentors in all locations to share their experiences with attendees. Find out more about that opportunity here.
