Each year people who have made a significant contribution to the blind and low vision community are recognised through the Vision Australia Awards.
Presented since 2006, each year the awards recognise those who have made a significant contribution in an individual and corporate capacity, as well as recognising contributions made by people aged under 25.
Nominations for the 2018 Vision Australia Awards are now open, and Vision Australia Board member Professor Sharon Bentley joined Talking Vision to discuss the awards.
“The awards were created to recognise and acknowledge the exceptional and invaluable contributions that have been made by members of our community,” Dr Bartley said.
“The calibre of the recipients has been [amazing] each and every year since the inception of the awards,” she said.
