West Australian Vision Australia clients now have access to the latest assistive technology - and the chance to try before they buy - through the Independent Living Centre WA.

WA regional manager Genevieve Duff says Vision Australia is working with he Independent Living Centre WA to ensure clients have local access to a range of assistive technology for people with low vision. “You can buy from the Vision Australia shop on our website but sometimes there is nothing better than to touch a product and feel it in your hands,” she says.

“Through the Independent Living Centre WA, you can do that and also take selected products home through its hire service on a short-term loan to see if they suit you.”

Products on display at the Independent Living Centre WA include canes and cane accessories, large-faced and talking clocks and watches, easy access Olitech mobile phones, talking kitchen scales and microwaves, a range of desktop and hand-held electronic magnifiers, liquid level sensors, CCTV readers, computer and iPhone accessible technologies and a range of bold stickers for use around the home.
