Meet Vision Australia’s newest Ambassador, Donna Dyson.
Joining Jessica Gallagher and Matthew Formston as Vision Australia Ambassadors, we believe Donna is another example of how, with passion, determination and a little bit of support along the way, people who are blind or have low vision can live the life they choose.
Donna first encountered vision loss as the result of a childhood accident before the impact of brain tumour caused further vision loss in adult life.
While vision loss has been present for significant stretches of Donna’s life, she hasn’t allowed it to keep her from excelling in a number of fields.
Donna is a professional educator with many years of classroom experience, curriculum and educational leadership and university lecturing.
Donna is also a respected author, having had a numerous educational children’s books published.
Donna is also a respected and awarded figure in music and is currently the APRA- ASA Australian Songwriter of the Year & is the co-writer of the Australian Song of the Year, Spirit of Australia.
