Last week, Vision Australia opened its doors to children of all ages and hosted a Circus Day.
This school holidays event provided children the opportunity to explore and have fun with other children who are blind or have low vision.

The day featured an exhaustive list of activities for the children to partake in that would help develop their motor skills and provide them social interaction in a safe environment.
Some of the activities included an interactive version of the beloved classic “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt”, which proved to be a major hit with the kids. There was also the opportunity for the children to play host on their own radio program and interview their family members.

The day reached its conclusion with a live performance from The Mik Mak’s, Australia’s fastest growing new and independent children’s act. The children danced the day away.
More than 60 families attended the circus, leaving rave reviews such as “an amazing day filled with smiles and laughter”, “My children loved the interactivity”, and “t really felt like a modern circus, we can’t wait for the next one!”
At the end of the day, the event provided a great opportunity for the attending children to let loose for a little bit, interact with their peers and enjoy some wholesome family fun.
