Meditation

Exercise; breathe work, breathing and guided meditation to promote inner health and well-being. Our aims is at the end of three weeks, participants are able to cultivate meditation practice into daily living. There will be opportunity at each session for participants to share their experiences

Suitable for: Beginners or seasoned practitioners.
Requirements: Wear comfortable clothing, have a comfortable chair and able to have feet on the ground, have a safe and quiet space, bring a warm blanket and if you can, to avoid heavy meal 2 hours prior to session.

Humans and metals - Out of the fiery furnace

There are 80 metals in the periodic table we use today in the space age but in this 3-week program, we will look at humans as they move from the Stone Age through the Bronze Age to the Iron Age. We will look at the social, technological, economic and political impacts of the human journey.

Hubble, a 30-year history of a space telescope

Since its launch in 1990, the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) has provided a dazzling array of images that have awed and inspired the public. More than just pretty pictures, the dozens of terabytes of data collected has provided insight into the universe, from objects as close as the moon to the most remote galaxies, with incredible photos of supernovas and nebulas in between. In these three weeks, we will explore the history of the telescope and its discoveries; provide Hubble facts and links to some of the orbiting observatory's best images.
